Where we stand

No account, no signup, nothing in the way. That is what makes Spilr easy to send to, and it is also what lets some people say things they would never say to your face. A product a creator is this easy to reach through has to be built for that rather than surprised by it.

So moderation runs before a creator ever sees a message, not after somebody complains. Two tiers, and they behave differently on purpose.

Blocked — never delivered

Sexual content involving minors, credible threats of violence, and material that exposes someone’s private identifying information.

This is not filtered, hidden, or sent to a spam folder. It is never delivered anywhere a person can reach it. The creator does not see it, and there is no control that reveals it.

Suspected child sexual abuse material is preserved in sealed quarantine and reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, as United States law requires of us. We cooperate with law enforcement on it.

Filtered — held back, and reversible

Slurs, harassment, spam, scams and adult content.

These reach the creator’s inbox blurred, with the choice to reveal them or mark them as spam. A creator can decide what they are willing to read; we do not decide it for them.

Filtered content never appears on a public page. Not blurred, not behind a warning — the whole card is withheld. Blurring is something we do in a private inbox and nowhere else.

Reporting something

Every response shown on a creator’s page has a report control. For anything else, email [email protected] with a link and a sentence about what is wrong.

Reports involving a minor or a credible threat are handled first. We aim to get to everything else within a few days.

You can report without an account, because you never needed one to be here.

Age

Spilr is for people aged 18 and over, on both sides. Creators confirm their age at signup, and anyone sending a message confirms it before sending.

If we learn an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it and delete what it holds.

What a creator controls

A creator can close a campaign at any time, stop taking messages, decide what reaches their inbox, and remove any response they have published.

Removing a response takes it off their page immediately. Nothing was ever sold to a reader, so nothing is owed and no refund is involved.

Law enforcement

We respond to valid legal requests from authorities in the countries we operate in, and we report child sexual abuse material whether or not anyone asks us to.

We will tell an affected user that a request was made unless we are legally prohibited from doing so.
