Refunds and cancellation
Last updated 22 August 2026
The short version
- The creator subscription is bought through Apple or Google, so they handle cancelling and refunding it, not us.
- The three-day trial takes no card, so nothing is charged if you stop.
- Tips are generally final, because a creator has already done the work.
- If you tipped and never got a reply, write to us and we will look at it.
The creator subscription
The subscription costs $29 a year, the same in every country, and it renews annually until cancelled.
It is sold through the App Store and Google Play. Those stores take the payment, hold the billing relationship, and are the only ones who can cancel or refund it. We are not able to do either on your behalf, however much we would like to be.
To cancel: open your subscriptions in the App Store or in Google Play and cancel there. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. To request a refund, use Apple’s or Google’s own refund process — both publish one.
Cancelling never affects money you have earned. A balance you are owed is yours, and we pay it out whether or not your subscription is active.
The trial
Three days, everything working, and no card at signup. There is nothing to cancel and nothing to refund if you decide not to continue — the trial simply ends.
Before any charge is set up you are shown the price, the date of the first charge, and how to cancel, on one screen.
If you are in the EU or the UK
You have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days. That right is yours in addition to anything on this page, and nothing here reduces it.
Because the subscription is billed by Apple or Google, exercise it through them. Email us as well and we will help you chase it.
Tips
A tip is money attached to a message you sent to a person, and it is final once sent in most cases. The creator has received something they can act on, and usually already has.
We refund a tip where the payment was not authorised by the cardholder, where it was charged twice, or where an obvious error was made — a slipped decimal, the wrong currency. Email [email protected] within 30 days with the receipt.
A creator not replying is not by itself grounds for a refund. Nothing on Spilr promises a reply, and we say so before you send.
Disputes with your bank
If you recognise a Spilr charge but want it reversed, email us first. It is faster than a bank dispute and it does not put a creator’s account at risk.
If you do not recognise a charge at all, dispute it with your bank. That is what the process is for, and we cooperate with the investigation.
Asking for a refund
Email [email protected] from the address on the receipt, with the receipt and one line about what happened.
We aim to reply within three business days. Where we agree to a refund it goes back to the original payment method, and how long it takes to appear is up to your bank.
